ADDENDUM TO
THE CONSTITUTION OF
THE IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY
MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS CLUB
Amended: November 21, 2002


EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITIONS:
Note: The following teams are composed of both Officers and Directors to provide more structure to our organization. There are no team leaders; teams should work collaboratively with other teams and members of the Executive Board.

Corporate Team:

Vice-President:
See the aforementioned duties

Speaker Coordinator:
1. Coordinate Speakers for each MIS Club General Meeting.
2. Coordinate with Social Coordinator and Public Relations Director for food and publicity.
3. Develops a set of guidelines for the presenting speaker(s) including suggested topics, logistics, etc.
4. Compose letters of appreciation to visiting companies after their presentation.
5. Begins coordinating the future semester’s speakers before semester break.

Fundraising Director:
1. Coordinate all revenue generating initiatives.
2. Works with Public Relations Director to advertise fundraising.
3. Coordinate contact with outside companies for fundraising.
4. Work with Alumni Association for marketing of MIS Club products.

Special Events Coordinator:
1. Plan and organize MIS Club reception each semester.
2. Work with Social Coordinators to coordinate social events for MIS Club members.
3. Serve as MIS Club representative to CyTech in the Spring Semester.


Membership Team:

Membership Director:
1. Organize Membership Drive each semester.
2. Maintain records of current members in computerized database.
3. Work with Public Relations Director to develop/update promotional pamphlet.

Alumni Relations Director:
1. Establish and maintain relations with MIS Club Alumni (via online, newsletter, etc.).
2. Spring Semester: Coordinates VEISHEA Open House for MIS Club.

Social Coordinators (2):
1. Social Coordinators must have a car and be available no later than one hour prior to all General/Executive Board meetings.
2. Plan and organize food for General/Executive meetings.
3. Coordinate with DPS Parking Division for MIS Club parking permit each year.
4. Work with Special Events Coordinator to coordinate social activities for MIS Club members.
a. Typical social events may include:
i. FAC
ii. Introduction party at the beginning of the semester
iii. End of the semester dinner
iv. Activities with other Universities and other clubs within the College of Business
v. Techie Movie Night
5. Work with Pre-Professional Relations Director to coordinate mentor activities.

Public Relations Director:
1. Promotes the club and its activities with fliers, signs, display cases in the Memorial Union, signboards, table tents, and ads in the ISU Daily and other campus publications.
2. Handles complaints from general members with consultation from the President and Advisor.
3. Maintains files of all articles and advertisements related to the Club including class announcement information.
4. Send out weekly emails to club members.

Pre-Professional Relations Director:
1. Introduce MIS Club and MIS major to future and new MIS Club members.
2. Coordinate presentation for BusAd 101, CS 103/104, and MIS 331 students each semester.
3. Serve as liaison to pre-professional students and respond to questions from members and outside inquiries about the club.
4. Coordinate MIS Club Mentor Program for new/interested club members.


Administrative Team:

Secretary:

Treasurer:

College-Student Liaison:
1. Attend the University Computer Advisory Committee (UCAC) meetings and the College of Business CAC meetings.
2. Serve as a voting student representative at the University CAC meetings and the College of Business CAC meetings.
3. Hold positions on two of the UCAC sub-committees.
4. Update Executive Board and Club members on proposed spending of student computing fees.
5. Obtain information about equipment grants from the College and University Committees.


Technical Team:


Webmaster:
1. Maintain technical design of the MIS Club website.
2. Inform general members of the WWW address and services the site provides.
3. Serve as a technical resource for club members emphasizing Web technologies.
4. Experience in web development is required.

Network Administrator:
1. Administer the MIS Club Windows 2000 network.
2. Maintain the Windows 2000 Server.
3. Coordinate new technology with existing infrastructure to benefit the club.
4. Respond to Executive Board requests regarding the network.
5. Network experience is a plus.

Content Manager:
1. Responsible for posting MIS Club Web Site content in a timely manner.
2. Work with the Webmaster to facilitate content with technical design.
3. Coordinate technical articles to be published online.
4. Take pictures and serve as historian for the MIS Club.

Technology Liaison:
1. Present information on industry trends to MIS Club members at each General meeting.
2. Responsible for organizing technical classes for members.
3. Serve as a technical resource for the Executive Board and General Members.
